Festival UEMC de Cine Social Universitario 2023 (inglés)

The Festival Internacional UEMC Cine Social Universitario-SOCINE (UEMC International University Social Film Festival) is a short film festival to be held during 2024.

Its purpose is to promote young people’s involvement (and society in general) with social issues and their dissemination through film among university communities from any world country.

The following categories are called: Fiction and Documentary.

Registration will be in online format through the Movibeta platform. An internal committee will make the official selection and a professional jury will later decide the winners.

The selected short films will be screened to the public.

The festival will end with an awards gala, which can be face-to-face or online.

REGISTRATION

Registration will be done through the Movibeta platform. The following requirements must be fulfilled on the platform:

Fill out the corresponding registration form, attaching poster, stills, personal identification document... and accreditation of their status as a member of a university community, through a certificate issued by the corresponding body of their university. The director must be or have been a university community member at least during the short film production.
Upload the film file or viewing link for the selection committee. (Minimum1920x1080 .mov or .mp4 h264)
Subtitle the short film in Spanish or English.

Registration deadline: Until July 15th, 2024.

SELECTION

An internal committee will be in charge of selecting, among all the short films submitted, those that will participate in the UEMC International University Social Film Festival. Those selected must send the organization a screening copy of the short film.

Subsequently, a professional jury, announced by the Festival, will decide the winners of this selection. The organization will establish each film screening order and date, reserving the right to modify it according to competition needs. The selection committee and jury decisions will be final.

Among all the short films selected, the following prizes will be awarded:

FIRST PRIZE SHORT FICTION FILM 2.000 €
SECOND PRIZE SHORT FICTION FILM 1.000 €

FIRST PRIZE DOCUMENTARY SHORT FILM 2.000 €
SECOND PRIZE DOCUMENTARY SHORT FILM 1.000 €

FIRST PRIZE ANIMATION SHORT FILM 2.000 €.
SECOND PRIZE ANIMATION SHORT FILM 1.000 €

GRAND PRIZE OF FESTIVAL to the Best Short Film of the Festival 1000 €. Chosen by the jury from among the first prizes in each of the previous categories.

UNIVERSITY PRIZE 1000 €. Chosen by the UEMC university community members.
BEST DIRECTION 600 €
BEST ACTING ROLE 600 €
BEST SCRIPT 600 €

The prizes may be declared void if the jury so determines.
